Siete nuevas confirmaciones se suman al #Cartelazo de Low Festival

   MØ, The Suicide of Western Culture, Modelo de Respuesta Polar, Jack Knife, los alicantinos Empty Bottles y dos anticipos de la programación de la Red Bull Music Academy, B Flecha y Alizzz

   Desde Dinamarca, llega Karen Marie Ørsted, un nombre que, por sí mismo, no diría nada, otra cosa es si hablamos de MØ. La sensación electro-pop más cool y underground del momento, que ya se ha comparado con bandas como Grimes o Twin Shadow. Eclética en sus inspiraciones musicales, con su primer disco, “No Mythologies To Follow” –publicado hace escasos meses-, está conquistando a medio mundo y, desde luego, hará que todo el Low Festival caiga rendido a sus pies gracias a temazos como “Don´t wanna Dance” o “Waste of Time” y a su arrollador directo.

   Y, como de bailar se trata, otra de las confirmaciones de este jueves conseguirá poner a todo los lowers a dar saltos. Se trata de The Suicide of Western Culture, un dúo catalán conocido internacionalmente gracias a un disco de título homónimo y con una instrumentación muy básica publicado hace unos años. Su segundo largo, “Hope Only Brings Pain”, consta de canciones de trasfondo trágico pero inesperadamente llenas de esperanza. Una combinación imparable de electrónica lo-fi, ritmos analógicos y post rock emocional que llevará a los lowers por un viaje lleno de contrastes.

   Modelo de Respuesta Polar elegidos talento Budweiser _emerge en 2011, han crecido, han madurado y se mueven con soltura entre la fuerza de los paisajes sonoros que consiguen crear y el carisma de la voz de Borja Mompó. Lo constataron con “Así Pasen Cinco Años”, su primer largo, y lo están reafirmando con “El Cariño”, su segundo álbum recientemente publicado. Y, si de talentos emergentes estábamos hablando dos nombres más se suman, Jack Knife y los alicantinos Empty Bottles.

   Jack Knife surgió en 2009 de las entrañas de un sótano de Madrid, de la mano de Álvaro Alberdi, sus integrantes son J. Parsons, y los hermanos Carlos y Jose Miguel Flores. Desde que editaron en octubre de 2013 un EP producido por Fernando Pardo (Sex Museum, Los Coronas), no han parado de girar por toda la geografía nacional.

   Los alicantinos Empty Bottles ponen la nota más rockera a esta nueva tanda de confirmaciones.

   Red Bull Music Academy presenta dos anticipos de su programación en el escenario VIP POOL, B Flecha y Alizzz

   Los abonados VIP POOL están de nuevo de enhorabuena, si el pasado 28 de abril se anunciaba la incorporación de programación de la prestigiosa Red Bull Music Academy en el escenario VIP POOL del festival, los primeros nombres de la misma empiezan a desvelarse.

   Cristian Quirante es el nombre que está detrás de Alizzz. La carrera de Alizzz, un habitual de la escena Dj europea, ha experimentado durante los últimos meses una ascensión meteórica que le he llevado a exportar su sonido a EE.UU en una gira de reconocido éxito y a publicar “Sunshine EP” en Jeffree´s, el prestigioso subsello de Mad Decent, comandado por Diplo.

   Con un joya bajo el brazo llega BFlecha, y es que Belén Vidal, esta joven compositora, productora y Dj de Vigo se acaba de estrenar con “βeta”, su tan esperado nuevo trabajo, que combina a la perfección la sofisticación de los sintes de raíces ochenteras con la profundidad del funk y del R&B más actuales.

   Red Bull Music Academy presentará su programación completa para el escenario VIP POOL de Low festival durante las próximas semanas.

   Todavía puedes conseguir uno de los últimos abonos VIP POOL que están a la venta antes de que se agoten AQUÍ.

   Estas confirmaciones se unen a las ya anunciadas de Massive Attack, The Horrors, Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, Vetusta Morla, Love of Lesbian, Holy Ghost!, Iván Ferreiro, Izal, The Hives y un largo etcétera que se suman a un cartel que contará con más de 80 artistas durante el 25, 26 y 27 de julio de 2014.

The Libertines

Pete Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassal and Gary Powell, the classic line up of The Libertines, was one of the most influential UK bands of the last decade. They created songs that became hymns for the British youth even before the release of their debut album ‘Up The Bracket’ (2002). This amazing record produced by Mick Jones from The Clash established them as one of the most popular bands in the United Kingdom. In 2005, The Libertines played their last gig without their charismatic front man Pete Doherty. Doherty, aside from The Libertines, started a new phase in his music career with Babyshambles, with whom he released 5 excellent albums. Sometime after in 2009 he also published his one and only solo project: ‘Grace/Wastelands’, signed for the first time under his own name. Barât has also released several albums aside from The Libertines, both solo or with his band Dirty Pretty Things. The Libertines reunited, in a more or less official way in March of 2010, when they announced themselves as headliners of Reading and Leeds festival.

TYCHO

Scott Hansen’s love for melodies gives his music great depth and distance, which can landscapes whilst allowing us to fly though pleasant states of mind and rhythm. His excellent electronic sound which is heavy with the influences of hip hop and post pop such as songs like “Dive” or his more recent “Awake” are two amazing examples of the talent this San Francisco based artist, who is also succeeding as a design photographer under the alias of ISO50.

Manel

“Atletes, Baixin De L’Escenari”, is the name of Barcelona’s based band last album, which has proved their capacity to create good pieces of pop which hold up three excellent albums. The four piece formed byMartí Maymó, Arnau Vallvé, Roger Padilla y Guillem Gisbert accumulate in their songs a melodic wit which together with their pleasant folky accent makes their live shows utterly unique.

Fat White Family

The dirty sound of this London based six piece is like pure gasoline. Rough, gruesome, fuzzy, and with weird effects and voices that grate with a powerful capacity of creating image. This is the sound of “Champagne Holocaust”, their debut album in which, without a doubt, they have exposed enough reasons to celebrate their garage rock. The Fat White Family has given birth to an album which is as carnal and sexual as it is strange and wrapping.

The Academic

This exciting indie rock four piece band from Ireland are recognizable by only a small number of songs such as “Forrest”, “Bear Claws”, “Werewolf” or “Chasers”. These tracks whilst remaining a big part of this genre also pushes them forward in to unknown territory which is where the excitement lies. The Mulligan based band will come to FIB introducing these songs and much ahead of the release of their debut album.

This year FIB Benicassim will be celebrating its 20th birthday. Over the years the line-ups and the festival has given thousands of people memories and experiences that will stay with them for many years. Days  and nights full of hustle and bustle dancing from one stage to another to watch your favourite bands and DJ’s. So it’s not surprising that this year’s festival is welcoming symbolic artists from past and present of the music scene and the festivals history. Paul Weller, The Charlatans, James, Manic Street Preachers or Travis, are pillars of the idea from which the festival was created, and which legacy still remains. These, united with others, like Kasabian, The Libertines, Paolo Nutini, Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Tinie Tempah, M.I.A., Tame Impala, Courteeners, Jake Bugg, Klaxons or Albert Hammond, Jr, are a sure fire win of a line-up for any avid music lover.
